Friday afternoon, when I talked to my mom on the phone, and she asked me
"How are the girls?" I realized later, after an answer of "Doing ok", that
that answer just wasn't good enough.
So....Momma (and the rest of you relatives I have been awful at keeping contact with)
here you go:
Bella---We finally had another interview with the Speech Therapist at Austin Elementary, her future elementary school. It went really well, I didn't get to stay in the room while she was being tested b/c the therapist thought she might get more truthful results without me in the room. I peeked in the window here and there to make sure everything was going ok, and it seemed like Bella was responding well to the teacher. We should hopefully hear back soon if she qualifies for their preschool. Her vocabulary is coming around quite nicely, though...she really is understandable in my eyes, but I know that a preschool of some sort will do her some good.
She is my big helper, as I have mentioned in previous posts, from laundry to dishes to sweeping to making sandwiches (yes a future Sandwich Artist on our hands...runs in the family). She loves to sing and dance...soon I will have to post a video of her singing "Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam." It's the cutest thing I've ever seen...we sing it over and over now that she knows the words! She loves her Sunbeam class and is so excited to go to "New Church" every week.
She has also become quite the artist...handing me a great drawing of myself one day, the quickly producing drawings of Daddy and both Grandma's (Don't worry, I will be sending your portrait to you.)
Aubree--is growing like a weed, her 15 month check-up is on Monday, so we will see just how much she has grown! She finally got her two top teeth in, and just today I noticed that she was working on a 3rd and possibly 4th tooth up there, too! With the arrival of those handy top-teeth, she loves to eat apples....She will carry an apple around working on it here and there for a good part of the day. We are working on building her vocabulary :). I'm pretty sure her first word was "NO" with a shake of her head! From there, she's started saying "ba-ba" for bottle, hi, mama, dada....and mostly recently "la-la" for her Bella. Today at church, she spotted Bella walking toward her, she cried "LA-LA" with a smile and ran to give her big sis a hug. I'm so glad they love each other so much!
James- is diligently looking for a new job with less hours. He hasn't been home before 11 any night this week. So, we are VERY grateful that he is in a profession where working for a new company should be relatively easy. Keep James in your prayers that the best job for him will come around soon. Busy season is NO FUN!
And as for me...you hear enough about me already thru this blog, so I'll leave that to another day :).
