Bella Bella sat on a wall, Bella Bella had a great fall....

Today started off to be just a nice relaxing, hang out with Grammy and Papa, kind of day.....the girls helped Topher wash James' car (finally after a year....and I will post pictures of that later, cause it's cute). Then....Bella was running excitedly into the office to show Daddy something, tripped and busted her forehead on the edge of the futon frame!
The next thing I know....James is running thru the family room, blood pouring all over Bella's face and clothes...into our bedroom. I run after him, thinking, what the crap? And find him pressing a washcloth over Bella's forehead on the bathroom floor. I basically push him out of the way to get to my bleeding daughter (sorry James!) and hold her tightly while she struggles to sit up.
Now...I don't have to tell ANY of you what a horrible feeling it is to see your child bleeding in anyway...injured and crying. I know you know that feeling deep in your bones. It's horrible, it makes you want to cry, it makes you want to take that pain away and make them feel better!
So...we called up her doctor, let her know what was happening. She told us to get to the ER, let them check it out and stitch it up if needed. Well....the ER is not somewhere I want to be going, so I suggested maybe stopping by a CareNow and getting her treated there. It was a quick little wait, and a nice doctor....everything checked out fine. It seemed that she punctured an artery in her forehead, so it was a bit of a bleeder.

Poor baby...we opted to skip the stitches part, since I really couldn't see Bella sitting still for that!!! And the dr used a glue to put her back together. Now she's got a great big gooseegg on her forehead...and a headache, of course. BUT she still wanted to dance to Mamma Mia when we got home!

Not for the faint of heart:

The outfit Bella was wearing when she hit her head. Yes, I know, I know...a little bit too much. But you are just lucky I didn't take pictures when she was covered in blood OR at the doctors! The camera didn't even cross my mind! (shocker)
No worries....she is OK...we are watching her, I know the signs and symptoms...but as always, keep her in your prayers. Ü

You’ve been busy posting today!
Poor Bella! And poor Mommy! (sorry James – Daddys just don’t count as much when it comes to hurt kiddoes for some reason . . . )
I know I’ve said this just recently – but Man – Bella is growing up so fast!! She’s such an adorable little girl.

Goodness gracious, I'm so glad Bella is ok. What an adventure to have, but she looks like a trooper in the pictures. Points to you for staying calm and not passing out!

Oh my! I'm glad to hear that she is okay, and how smart of you not to take her to the ER! I'll be thinking about her.

Poor sweet bella! All that blood would have scared the crap out of me for reals! You look like you did a great job holding yourself together, and she is a tough girl! The first of her childhood battle wounds!

How scary! I freak out when they just cut their lip a little bit. I'm glad she's okay, and I don't blame you about that ER thing!

Oh my gosh, that's frightening! I completely agree about the ER. Last time we took David, we spent 5 HOURS there. And those CareNow places are much more convenient. It's good that you went ahead and patched her up. Our doctor told us if you don't patch something like that up in at least 11 hours, it will heal all caddy-wumpus.

Poor little lady (and poor Mom & Dad, too)! Glad to hear everything worked out for the best. Good call on the glue.

Sweet 'lil Bella. Give her some smooches from us! Stitches are scary, YAY for glue! :) You're gonna have to get some bleach for that shirt! Yikes! Maybe get some padding for all sharp corners! ;)

That's horrible. I'm waiting for this day to come with Kayley as she is a walking disaster at times...thanks to my clumsiness that I unfortunately passed on to her. She can trip over thin air...just like me! I'm glad she is doing well and that everyone handled everything well.

Aww poor Bella. I hope she's doing better. I hope her head and her cute little A&W shirt are all better!
