nappity nap nap nap

I am a nap taker...I LOVE TO TAKE NAPS. I chalk it up to being up into the wee hours of the morning for work....since naptime for the girls never was naptime for me before this job (though its hard to remember time before this job)...it was chill-out-and-watch-tv-and-eat-time. But today....I decided...to heck with a nap. I'm not THAT tired, I have things to do. So, I'll be a bit groggy by the time work ends, oh well....
And you know what! I got over that 3:00pm-hump (you know where you are sooooooooo tired you think you are going to pass out where you stand) and felt FABULOUS. It never occurred to me that my over-napping has been causing me some major grief. I do tend to sleep for 1 1/2 -2 hours when I nap...I just can never do the power-napping thing...I'm just gluttonous when it comes to sleep! I want more more more!
What's funny is that I think I've heard myself say (awhile ago) that I didn't need sleep. When I was working 8p-4a....I was trying to be all tough, thinking I could survive on 5 hours and then a nap in the afternoon. Well....I'm here to say, bleh to that! I GOTTA SLEEP!
And speaking of sleep....*we finally put (we as in James) the girls back into the same room. Background: Bella has been sleeping on our floor for the last ....months! Mainly b/c the night would go something like this.....put Aube to bed in her room, put Bella to bed in our room, when Bella falls asleep put her in her room with Aube....20 minutes later Bella is screaming at the top of her lungs to be "back in Mommy's bed"....nice.
So...finally we (*see above) decided that it was time to just TOUGH. IT. OUT. James (the good daddy that he is) reads them a book in there together, we placed their bed close together for comfort...and then he turns out the lights and keeps the door open. It's been 3 days...and its gone from taking 2 1/2 hours for them to finally fall asleep (yes...that would be ELEVEN OCLOCK...no wonder they are crabcakes) to an hour! YAY. Can't ask for more that progress, now can we?

I feel ya on the naps! Except, um, sometimes I nap for like 2-3 HOURS?? Is that bad? LOL...maybe if I just sucked it up and tried to stay up I could make it, but sometimes you can barely keep your eyes open come 3 o'clock in the afternoon!

And that is SO good about the girls starting in the same room, I may need some pointers b/c when we put ours in the same room all they do is PLAY, or Brady plays while Nat tries to sleep! Ick!

If James wants to come stay with us and get our two to stay in their rooms all night, that'd be GREAT! One is 7 and still does it! UGH!

On another note,I found a cool blog
frugalisfab.blogspot.com

she gives you deals she finds each week, plus links to coupons and tells you how to get stuff virtually free! I am still sorting through it, but if it works that'd be awesome!

Hey napper!
I just made my blog private . . . Can you email me Ashley, Kelli, and Krista’s email addresses so I can invite them? (And any of your other friends that may want to lurk – I lurk at most of your friends blogs . . . .) :-)

Sarah GOOD. FOR. YOU!!!! It is really hard to change schedules ESPECIALLY nap/sleep habits, so I salute you.

I must be a sleep glutton, too! I love naps! (And I'm talking like two hour naps.) I just love to sleep, period. With bigger kids, who don't nap, it's not something that I get to do very often. Even when their in school, I'm always running around. I guess that's probably good though!
And our boys are in the same room and it takes them forever to fall asleep, too! It's about an hour most nights. I'm still hoping it gets better!

NO..Your not weird Jenny! She probably lurks on yours too!!! I'll give her your email so you can continue to lurk. Her kid is the cutest, so I dont blame you.

Hey Jenny!
You’re only as weird as me I guess (I lurk your blog too). We’re actually going on vacation in a few weeks to the coast and I thought to myself “hey – I know someone there!”, but then thought, “surely she’ll think I’m nuts if I tell her I think I ‘know’ her” . . .
Sarah – can you send me Jenny’s email too? Or – if you guys want to just email me – I’m at cbishopAT aicpaDOTorg.

Ok, I think we all lurk and nap. Mine are 2 to 3 hours. And, since my kids no longer nap (Chandler does again- teenager!) I have trained them to sleep in. One of the reasons I got so bummed when Hayden went to school was he would still nap with me almost daily until he started kindergarten. Naps rock!! And, have fun getting and keeping the girls in bed.

I agree about the nap thing. Before I got pregnant, I had to stop napping because Ewan did, and I realized I felt so much better. I wasn't as grumpy and felt just happier. Can't say the same now, because if I didn't nap when Fynn does (quiet time for Ewan) I would literally collapse by the end of the day.
