Left me hangin'....

The Historian The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova

My review

Rating: 4 of 5 stars
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the depth the author put into it, I loved that it was written in a way where I could read it and understand it. I felt that she put ALOT of work into it...the descriptive nature of the book was amazing. But then...I get to 100 pages from the end and I'm thinking "how in the world is this author going to FINISH THIS BOOK in 100 pages????"

She spent so much time on the beginning and middle, but then when it came to the end it was a wham-bam-thank-ya-maam, leaving me feeling quite unimpressed. Which totally STINKS because I enjoyed the rest of the book immensely! You can't give THAT much information on Dracula and his background then kill him off in less than 2 pages! Give me a break! The ending of the book is what is going to keep your readers and get them to read your NEXT book!!!

But then the character gets a book at the end, does that mean Dracula somehow survived?

Ooo...I was wondering about that. Or maybe it was just one of his minions continuing his work??? Totally doesn't make any sense at all!! But how are we supposed to know what happens to Dracula...she doesn't give it enough attention or detail! Seriously frustrating. Why put so much into a book and not finish it up with something spectacular. We only know that Dracula turned to dust! ARGH. Ü This is the second book in a row that has had a disappointing ending!
