I've been meaning to blog about the delightfully dreary weather we have been having lately! Of course, Today has shown no sign of the weather we've enjoyed...with the return of the sun and bright blue, Texas-sized skies.
The sun is always welcome....but so are the scattered thunderstorms! Our lawn was 95% dead, ground cracking...and now, thank goodness...we have some moisture back!
I was able to have some night off during this wonderful weather, so after dinner, our little family would go out for a walk in the rain. The first night, it was mostly just drizzle, and we went up and walked at a park, watching the little baby duckies and seeing an armadillo (of course I forgot my camera!) on the walking trail! The next night, when we started our walk, the drizzle was a little heavier....and turned into a nice little downpour as we came 'round the bend.
The girls have had the loveliest time out in the rain......it takes ALOT of coercing and promising to watch The Little Mermaid (Aube's new fave movie) to get them to come inside!!
Ahhh....Surely, Texas will keep a-blazin' for a few more weeks now, though the 10-day forecast shows RAIN, GLOOOORIOUS RAIN for 10 days.....but I do remember Halloween last year, the poor kiddos sweating in their costumes! But this glimpse of rain gives a glimmer of hope Ü and beautiful memories of fall!!

Amen! I am loving this weather, or at least the last few days of weather! I can't WAIT for Fall to come. There is nothing better than being able to go outside and to actually feel cool! Yay for summer almost gone, i hope!

That's the difference between the West and the Mid-West. The West always prays for summer to end fast, and in the Mid-West, we don't ever want it to end...b/c that means COLD! It's always fun to play in the rain. We used to do that in Vegas b/c it rained so seldom there... what a fun week!
Ahhh – I love the rain too! Especially the nice loud thunderstorms at night – they rock me right to sleep.
Speaking of rocks – did you re-do your front lawn again, or is that an old picture
OH yeah! I did redo it...i put in these wood pieces out in the front, then filled it with rock leftover from around the pool. I thought I posted about it, but guess not! I planted some gardenia's and other flowers that died....well, the gardenia's stayed, so I'm going to replace the dead ones with those when it gets nicer out!
Yeah, totally loved the rain and want it to come back. I'm not very optimistic about the cooler temperatures. I've suffered through many a HOT October in recent years.
