The Crafty Crow just happens to be one of my favorite blogs of all time...I make a daily stop there to check out some seriously crafty ladies. I found the coolest Halloween wreath to make with the girls, from Ramblings of a Crazy Woman.
What happens is...using orange paint (preferably washable), make little pumpkins using the palm of the kiddo's hands....this is quite messy, so covering clothes is suggested AND keeping your wipees handy.
Don't expect to get perfectly round pumpkins...but thats the fun of it.

But expect to have your kids tell you "this is so cool, Mommy"....ahhh...yes.
Now, with the footprints...I actually used, white acryllic paint, which I removed with wipees RIGHT after they were done. I suggest actually HOLDING your childs foot, and placing it on the paper, unless you have older kids, and they have some control of their extremities!

Oh, poor Aube...why the tears? Mean ole mommy, huh? Wouldn't let you walk around the house with paint on your foot? Awww....shame, shame.

I then put everything aside to dry...and then that night, went in and cut everything out and added faces! To get the "wreath" part...I cut a circle out of cardboard, using 2 bowls as the outline. Then you just glue the characters on, leaving space for a ribbon up top. And Viola! you have a cute little Halloween decoration, and your childs footprints saved in time! I had some left over, so I could send miniature wreaths to the grandparents!
