We started out by attending Bella's first dance recital. We enrolled her in dance this past fall semester and she absolutely loves it. It's a small class, but the girls are all so cute!
It turns out that Bella is horribly shy and refused to go out and dance in front of the crowd! I kinda figured this might happen, I crossed my fingers and toes hoping that it wouldn't! But see that X....yeah, that was supposed to be Bella!
They had two dances...and after the first one, I made sure to go back stage and give the girlies a pep-talk....hoping THAT might change things and get Bella excited for the dance. I've decided that the teachers shouldn't leave the girls alone in the back like that...it just psych's them out! They need an mommy-presence back there for encouragement!So, the second dance was tap....and this is the part Bella LOVED. She loved to tap those bells so much. Of course, I got this pic in 2 seconds...then she looked out in the crowd and fell to the floor in tears! Poor girl. My heart just about broke. BUT, she may look older than all these girls...but she's still just a young 'un! We'll get her past her shyness somehow!
The entire dance company....Freestyle Productions is the name of the studio. They had all ranges of ages perform....and even 2-3 mom's! How fun would it be to learn how to tap!

It was a lot of fun. She does such a good job when everyone's closing their eyes. Maybe she'll get the courage for the next recital after watching all the other dancers. She really liked watching the other performances.

Oh my gosh, how sweet and adorable! She looks beautiful! My kids have done that same thing... I bet she had a ton of fun either way, just a little performance anxiety!

How adorable! She looks so cute in her costume! Hopefully now that she's seen a recital next time will go better. I have super shy kids so I know all about crowd anxiety.

Soooo cute in those costumes! Oh, my gosh, how sad to have to see her cry like that. She will get over it eventually, I'm sure. She's such a cutie.
