It was a great chance to get all decked out and have a night out! After several outfit changes (thank you Ashley!) we were very ready to go! The girls had their usual great babysitter...of course as you can see by the hand at the bottom of this picture...Aube didn't quite want us to go!
We are pretty lucky with this job...we found out last night that in James' department, we are surrounded by 2 other awesome LDS couples and one very nice couple that shares our same standards! We were all quite the gambling-virgins (though I do admit to playing slots and Keno when we were in Vegas....I mean, come one! It's VEGAS) and kept ourselves thoroughly entertained playing CRAPS! One of the other couples we got to spend time with were the Pools, Kristy was my co-conspirator in winning lots of "money" on the "field" or "passline"...we really had no idea what we were doing....but we did win enough chips to keep our husbands playing blackjack after they lost all their money!!! It wasn't real money, unfortunately...but its even more fun to gamble with FAKE money....I couldn't even imagine losing hundreds of dollars (like James did.) VERY fun night...my feet are still killing me. We were too busy "gambling" to bustamove on the dance floor....though I was VERY close to going and showing my knowledge of the Electric Slide (no party is complete with out THE ELECTRIC SLIDE! Hey...I danced to it at my wedding...).I just have to say...good job XTO!
As for tonite....after a short night at work....we are chillaxin' by the fire....THE FIRE! Can you believe it, we have been in this house for 2 years, and we have finally lit the fireplace with a great "faog" (fake log...duh).
The only thing I wish was different about our fireplace is that there is no mantel! Just these odd sticky-outtie things....It's gonna be interesting to see where I can hang our stockings for Santa....if I can get around to making them!!

Aww, y'all look very nice! So, is XTO hiring? You guys get to go to some fun parties! And, I think the fireplace looks awesome, not sure about stockings though? Maybe have James drill a few teeny little holes and get some of those little hooks. You can take them out after Christmas and no one will ever know.

I had so much fun with you guys last night! I didn't really get to say goodbye, we kind of just left to get Rex. How did the raffle go? Did you ever find the desert room, or were the tables along the wall the desert? I am excited for next year! And I will never forget the drunk dude..."She doesn't know how to roll a seven!"

I think that WAS the dessert! Cause we went where the dancing was and they had the SAME little bite-sized stuff...no luck with the raffle since we could only get 3 tickets with our "money" and some people had like $120,000 worth of chips! We DID stay till the end (lame)..but I think we were too tired to walk out to our car! And the drunk dude stayed at that same craps table for the REST of the night...you could hear him laughing all the way over where we were watching James lose $3000!!!!

Oh yeah! The shoes!! Unfortunately this was the ONLY picture I took that night. I REALLY should have taken it...pictures of us at the craps table would have been hilarious. Anyways...IF the picture they took there at the party turns out, I'll post that!
The shirt is from Lane Bryant...word to the wise (or from the wise?? lol) take a COUPON to that store! They've got some lovely things for girls "like me"....but the extra fabric must be spun from pure gold! :)
I lost $4,000 in the last five hands of blackjack. I could build a mantel if I wanted to. I just don't want to. I have crazy mantel building skills to go along with my cereal pouring skills and fried egg flipping skills.
