There are certain doctor's appointments I don't make first priority on my list....such as the dentist and the eye doctor. I went to the dentist back after Bella was born...and it's on my to-do list...just waaaaaaay at the bottom. It's easy to ignore if there isn't any pain from cavities or whatnot. I always have "go to the eye doctor" on that never-ending, ever-growing list....but it's either A. too hard to find someone to watch the girls or B. too expensive to buy glasses/contacts. So it usually gets skipped over. Also, there always seems to be some kind of drama with insurance...it seems that its common in opthalmology to hire incompetent reception staff who have no idea how to call and make sure they give you the right copay.
This week has been unusually bad for my eyes...probably because my lack of a good pair of glasses or maybe it's because the earliest I have gone to sleep in the last week is 3am.
It's gotten so bad at night and my eyes have been so dry that I finally made an appointment this morning. I dragged us all up there, late as always, the staff not doing their job and calling on my insurance.....to find out I have a scratch on my cornea and have to wear glasses for the time being to let it heal. Soooooo....since my 7 year old glasses lay all wonky on my face, I am still in my contacts with what feels like a marble in my left eye....but tomorrow, I pick up my new glasses! Pictures to come!

Yikes. That's absolutely miserable. Will your insurance pay for new glasses? I'm sorry, hon!!!
Yeah...we think. It's supposed to be full coverage, but for some reason the dr's office is telling us only 20% covered...hopefully we'll get a reimbursement. It's not like I bought a pair of Gucci glasses...but it's the principle of the matter!
Heck yeah, you better get reimbursed!! That's what we have insurance for!!
Sorry about your scratch!! Not good!! But yay for new glasses!!
I've had a headache all day. After reading your post, I've put on my glasses! Perhaps this will help!
That stinks about the scratch!! It can't be comfortable. I hope it heals quickly for you!
Ouch! Can't wait to see your new specs though!!
