Our Christmas Day

The naughty elves stayed up nice and late making sure everything was in perfect shape! And really, sleeping on Christmas Eve is just absurd...for both parent and child. It's just too exciting!!The girls slept in decent for us....only a few more years left of that! James tells Bella to stay in our room, not to follow him into the living room....so he can go check and see if Santa was here. But what does she do? Follow him, of course! Then gets mad at us because we won't let her stay in there! She quickly forgot as we went in to wake sweet Aube....
They had a blast opening their gifts, though it was a little bit of sensory overload...especially since they were uber-excited about the Barbie dollhouse.Their big present this year....I've been in love with this one since I've seen it and others like it at Costco. Though Santa's helper will tell you that putting handcrafted pieces together is a pain in the rear ;). But in the end....seeing how much the girls love playing with it makes it all worth it!
Bella made sure Santa knew she would be looking for Mamma Mia! I left it till the end, with a "Oh my, look, Santa left one more....." To say she was excited would be an understatement. It may seem silly...but this present is proof that James listens to me whine Ü. My bathroom has basically not insulated at all. And with our sporadic cold days here and there, taking a shower is torture. The hubster did good!Gramma made the girls wonderful quilts.....soft and comfy, just how we like 'em!Grammy and Papa out-did themselves this year in the creativity department. We weren't quite sure what this beauty was at first. Kinda figured it was a pinata, in anticipation of our Cancun trip in April.....so we swung away (video to be posted later)Lo and behold we were right! Pinata is was.....with lots of goodies inside!
The poor thing lost an arm! Bella was quite distraught about her little friend missing an arm.The damage:Our poor dazed children....watching Mamma Mia, in their Christmas coma.
I tried (unsuccessfully) to follow in the Sargent Family tradition and make Christmas tree pancakes. I only had green and yellow food coloring, though....whoops, not too festive.
Turns out....it didn't matter Ü. I stink at pancakes. Dad, where are ya when I need ya? LOL.
So I made us some green-eggs-and-ham-pancakes. Or I guess they could be wreaths.
Oh well! Maybe next year!
Where did the time go?! I seriously can't believe December came and went in such a flash. We had a lot of fun together, our little family. But I can't wait till next year when we'll be surrounded by family!

I am coming to your house for Christmas next year. I would love a pinata full of candy and money. The heater doesn't look so bad either. But, definitely I want a Barbie house!
