But last Thursday, we went to the Ft Worth Stockshow and Rodeo. James got some free tickets thru work. It was a slow night, since the day before everything had been shut down because of the freeze. But we had fun, even if it was a bit chilly.
When we first got there, we checked out the petting zoo. They had llama's, chickens, goats, bunnies...too cute. Aube cornered, this poor fella...
They had this cute, but weird, hairy cow.
Lots and lots of chickens. James was in heaven Ü he got to see in person the chickens he wants to get.
After the petting zoo, we went over to ride the ponies. Aube was very excited, ever since we told her about going to the Rodeo, all she could talk about was "Aube ride horsies".
All I can say is "thanks James" for the crappy pictures ;). I kid...it's not his fault I have a double chin...well, not his entire fault.
Bella got to ride Fancy. As in "Shetland pony is a fancy way of saying SMALL".
We had planned on getting dinner there, since we went early to be able to enjoy the Carnival, etc. Of course, the food was questionable. Ok, not all of it...James and I had philly cheesesteak sandwiches and the girls had hot dogs, which were all yum...the FRIES were the culprit, yuck.
I questioned whether or not to wear a scarf (I would love to wear a scarf with every outfit...but it never feels right, unfortunately) but I got over it and just went ahead and wore one. Thank goodness I did...cause it was CHILLY. Brrrrrrr.
We had our pick of Carnie rides, since the park was a ghosttown. The girls had a blast.
With some coercion, we dragged the girls inside (like I said, they were having fun) to the Rodeo.
We got there right in time to sing the National Anthem, with fireworks to follow...which ended up putting Bella in this position for the rest of the show:

Okay, so this wasn't the Mesquite rodeo, it was the ft worth one, right? Anyways both of them are awesome and I love love LOVE the rodeo. And I think you and your scarf look fabulous. Miss you.
I looks like you all had a great time! Loved seeing all that you did!
That's so cool that you guys went to the rodeo! I dated a rodeo clown in high school for 4 years and I got to be in a lot of the entertaining acts in the rodeos, it was lots of fun. I miss rodeos, but I doubt I will ever go to one again cuz Aaron is kind of jealous of that part of my life. :( Looks like you guys had lots of fun!

Looks like fun! Does James really want chickens? They're horrible!
How fun!! Your girls are so adorable and they are growing up so quick! You look so cute in that scarf! I have almost bought that one like 10 times!
That looks like a ton of fun. Is that still the same one we drove by when I was there? Love the scarf and Aube's pigtails!!!
I love the rodeo. I dated a guy in high school (S. TX) that was into bull riding. I wonder if he is still around!
Glad y'all had fun. At least your husband is willing to take some pictures. Mine won't be in them and when he does click the button we usually end up with photos of my chest or butt and he is unapologetic.
That looks like SO MUCH FUN!!! And – I was already thinking to myself that the scarf looks so good on you (before I read your comment about the scarf). It just looks so pulled together. I don’t even own a scarf – maybe I should go shopping! :-)
I haven’t been to a rodeo in years – my older brother used to participate in the rodeo when he was in school in Amarillo. The bull riding is more “fun” because they can actually KILL the rider. I’m too chicken. I hope I don’t have boys – mostly because I don’t like rodeos, football, or anything where my kids can get their heads crushed in (and boys, for some reason, like to participate in those sorts of sports).
The rodeo was a lot of fun. Of course we didn't take out enough money, but I guess we made it through just fine without buying blue cotton candy. I'm glad I work for a company that sponsors all these things so that we can go for free!
I agree about scarves. Practical and fun in theory, look fabulous on other people, but I can't pull it off. Except around the house, I wear my Elmo skin to keep warm sometimes. Looks like a really fun time! Aubree's little hands clasped together at the end are so cute, with her big tearful eyes. Did y'all get me a bunny?
Notice that Aubree wouldn't hold on to the pony with both hands? Maybe she wants to be in the rodeo.
