Saturday while doing lovely yard work (
said with sarcasm)...I noticed that our Iris was about to bloom. Our one Iris plant. The ONE plant that survived me ripping up the yard Ü.

But yet, not MY Iris...I meant to plant a whole bunch of them this winter, so they would be ready for spring. But I was lazy, and it was cold!

I'm just hoping Bella doesn't pick it when it blooms. She is notorious for that.

And I have a feeling it's going to bloom fast, and then be gone....if I remember correctly, thats what happened last year.
They are just so pretty in full bloom. Iris' were part of my wedding bouquet...being one of James' favorite flowers, too.

I barely remember that we had the same color Iris in my yard when I was growing up. There was a row of them lining the driveway and they were so pretty.
It's kind of like how the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park found a way to reproduce even though they were supposedly all females. Maybe this iris has some frog DNA in it too.
I am so behind on blogs - all free "blog" time has been going to P&T. I love the iris pics - ours are all blooming as well. They are just soooooo very beautiful and delicate. *sigh*
