Happy Birthday Dr Seuss!

Theodor Seuss Geisel was born on this day in 1904...mostly widely known for his children's books, he was an American writer and cartoonist.

I don't know of anyone who made it thru childhood without reading one of his books...turning their noses up at Green Eggs and Ham or laughing at the silly, deviant Cat in the Hat.

One of my favorite things are quotes you can find by the good Dr.
Such as:
A person's a person, no matter how small.

And will you succeed? Yes indeed, yes indeed! Ninety-eight and three-quarters percent guaranteed.

Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.

I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life's realities.

I'm sorry to say so but, sadly it's true that bang-ups and hang-upscan happen to you.

So the writer who breeds more words than he needs, is making a chore for the reader who reads.

Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the things you can think up if only you try!

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. And obviously, all of these things have been said by random people thru out the years, the gist behind each one isn't new. But I love the way he puts them, the rhyming makes them easy to remember.

So, celebrate your own Dr Seuss day!! Here are some resources I've found while browsing around this morning:
~Make your own book.
~Make a Cat in the Hat-hat.
~Quiz yourself, how many Dr Seuss Character do you know?
~Make up your own Dr Seuss name....for example, Bella is: Bella Shambanella. Aube is Aube Listomombee
~Head on over to Seussville. To play games and other fun nonsense.

How did it get so late so soon? Its night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?

They are celebrating Dr. Seuss all week at Hayden's school! He is very excited. They get to watch Horton tomorrow with blankets, pillows, and popcorn.

How fun. It also make the google banner make a little more sense. I mean I knew it was Suess but didn't know why.
