A couple of weeks ago, James says to me out of the blue: If I pick a book out for you to read, would you read it? I said yes, of course...but he had to read a book of my choosing. I don't think he even had a book in mind when he asked that question, since he went over to the bookshelf and pondered for a bit.
Finally he came back with the first book in The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I said sure, since I wanted him to read one of my books, there were a few I've always told him he'd like, but he would never give them a chance.
Anyways...I finally started this book yesterday (when this first came up, I was at page 200 in Anne Rice's 1045 page book, the Witching Hour...and it took me FOREVER to finish, gah) and just reading the intro by Mr King makes me want to read this series. He started it in 1970 and finished his "Epic" in 2003...30 years in the making, can you imagine? I'm not a big Sci-fi fan, I like to watch Epic movies not so much read Epic books. I've never read Tolkein (tho Kings intro also made me want to read it, since he compared his world to Frodo's). But I hope I can enjoy this series.

Gareth really enjoyed the dark tower series too.
Oh, poor James. Just Kidding! I think I might try the Dark Tower Series. I love fantasy/sci-fi.
Oh man...you should have totally made him read twilight. I know guys at work that have loved it too;) Let us know what you think of it. My dad has all the Stephen King books!
Ha ha you should of made him read Twilight, I did. Lol! Well I got them on CD for him to listen to on his way to school and he did it for me, but said it was hard to listen to all the sexy manly descriptions of Edward. Oh man I just can't believe he stuck it out, what a guy.

You should try it, Kristy! LMK, we have all the books and I'd be happy to lend ;).
Bryce and I have always planned to do something like this, just haven't ever seen it through. He did start to read Pride & Prejudice, but eventually just watched the BBC series instead. I'm excited to see how this turns out!
You should have made him read Twilight. Derek has read the whole series like four times.
