Sometimes, I'll watch the girls when they play (whoa, that sounds bad, lol...like there are times when I'm not watching my children...ahem...not me...always watchin'!) ...and I think to myself, Oh! to be a child again! Do you ever get that? I mean....I don't want to be a teenager, I've had enough drama in my life to last me 3 lifetimes. But to be a child...no worries, no cares. Lay back in a pile of dirty, nasty leaves without thinking about the spiders living in it!
I remember the days of being a kid...riding our bikes around the neighborhood, playing post office with the neighbors mailboxes...'swimming' in the garbage cans when dad was cleaning them out...wading around in ditches, then ice skating on them in the winter...traipsing around in the woods behind our subdivision and building a fort. Yes, we were ghetto-kids. But it was FUN to just be a kid!

I'm with you Sarah. We basically grew up in the field behind our house...I guess that makes us weeds. Hmmm.
Uhm hello, that is what was so fun about growing up and just think, we were so busy having fun, that we didn't spend as much time thinking about or even realizing the things that we were "missing out" on.
Really those were fun times when you and I were growing up well, since I'm your moms age I guess not you and I, but....too bad things have gotten so that you (meaning all mothers in general) can't really let your children do those things anymore. We just use to run the streets and neighborhoods and get into all kinds of mischief and fun!!!! Not really possible anymore for our kids today! So sad!
