When it rains....it pours....

And I'm not talking about the weather, even though we have had a wicked batch of weather blow thru the Metroplex the last few weeks.
I'm talking about my least favorite question in the world (added onto my bad week):
"Ma'am.....do you know why I pulled you over today?"
And yesterday, I really DIDN'T know why I saw flashing lights in my rear-view mirror! He says:
"Well, not at that stop sign, but two stop signs ago, you didn't come to a complete stop."
Me: "Oh ...yeah...bad habit there."
Him (after seeing the bags from Jack in the Box in my passenger seat): "Trying to get the food home, huh?"
But seriously...I thought, MAYBE...just maybe he might give me a warning and let me go. But I guess I wasn't hot enough (you know how all the cute chicks get out of stuff like this) because he went back to his car and proceeded to take a good 10 minutes (COLD FOOD, thanks) to write me up a ticket. He says: "Just call that number and they'll instruct you on your court date and fines."
ARE YOU SERIOUS? Yes...I have been pulled over twice in my life...both times were for speeding and I knew I was speeding....so yeah, give me a ticket. BUT...I did a "California stop" TWO STOP SIGNS AGO....the one AFTER it I stopped fully, then turned!!! Doesn't that count for SOMETHING?! That and the fact that I have two cute little girls in my back seat...I am NO hardened criminal. Isn't there someone else you could be picking on?
The best comment of the situation:
"What brings you from Nevada?"
Ummm....I robbed a casino and I'm on the run from the law! Please don't tell on me!

WELL Thats why you got a ticket... if your plates still say NEVADA he assumes everyone is a hood-lum and must be bad! what a lamo... I hate to rub it in but I did get pulled over 2 months ago for not stoping at a stop sign, but he let me out of it! "I said something about having alot on my mind and I had never been in that area (which was true) so I just missed it" so he let me go! I am sorry about the ticket! Cops sometimes have to get in their number of tickets or write ups for the day and he decided on you because seriously he waited until the 2nd or was it the 3rd stop sign to pull you over... ummm hello?

See...he let you go, cause your a cutie!! But that was quick thinkin'! I always think of stuff like that AFTER the fact!
And we do have Texas plates now...he mentioned the Nevada thing after he looked up my stuff from my Driver's License!

UGH! I HATE getting pulled over. Seriously, there is nothing worse. And don't you almost feel like he took ten minutes on purpose? After his little comment about "getting the food home?"

The other day, Bryce was due home, and I heard a car door slam, so I assumed it was him. But when I glanced outside I noticed a man in uniform. It was a cop, in front of our house, and he had just pulled Bryce over. It was pretty funny, actually.

What the heck! That is so wild that he gave you a ticket for something that far back, adn you know he totally stalled b/c of your food, PUNK!

Ahh man!! That soooo sucks!!! Travis got pulled over for that once on our way home when we were dating. He totally got off. He ALWAYS gets off and I am the one that gets the ticket so I don't believe that hotness thing. I think they like to give chicks tickets. They think we drive worse anyway. What a jerk. I would have just given the girls their food and broke out my burger while he wrote it up. You were already getting a ticket. He's not going to write one for eating in the car;) Some men are just punks. Total power trip!!

THREE stop signs ago?? Had he been following you or something? Why'd it take him THREE signs to pull ya over in the first place?? Lame... I sorry! I love you!!

PS I had gotten pulled over for making a "California stop" Christmas Eve Eve 2005 in mom's jeep and I just started bawling.. I got out of it with a nice warning.. but not cause I'm cute.. but because I was crying about not being able to go to snow college.. haha.. thought mom and dad wouldn't let me go!! :) But they didn't find out til after my Snow College experience..

Awww man!!! That does suck! Tony got a ticket a few weeks ago, and it was a lame one too. He got a ticket for making a left hand turn at a light where there was a little bitty construction sign that said “no left turn”. The cops were just pulling people over right and left for it. It was a steep one too – over $200!!! That’s where his “Bush bucks” are going! :-P

If they're going to give you a ticket, just do it and get it over with. He doesn't need to start up a conversation unless he's going to let you off or ask you to dinner. Maybe they should go after the kids who stole our lawnmower last year. The trail is getting cold!

It's amazing the things you learn about your children on blog comments! Humm... Jen... so you got a ticket in MY jeep, and I didn't find out about it until AFTER you went to college?? Humm... you're grounded for life!! haha! Love you!! :)

Sarah, I'm so sorry about your ticket and getting such a mean cop! Daddy said that you should've said something about being married from a guy who lived in California for a time, and stops like that are legal there!!
Love you!!

Ugh! There is NOTHING I hate more than throwing money out the window to something STUPID like a traffic violation. Even when I was YOUNGER, CUTER and SKINNIER, I NEVER got out of it.. 3 I can think of and I had to PAY EVERY ONE! So that cute thing doesn't always work Ü Gareth got 2 tickets in 6 months after we moved here, I seriously threatened to drive him everywhere... I mean come on! But at least tickets here are only 75 bucks as opposed to Vegas 200 and something!!! He got a few there as well. Hope your week goes better!
