Caught!

The scritched-y, scratchers have been caught!
No more scritch-scratchin' in the attic (so far).
You can tell by the look on James' face
that he is quite relieved and happy to have
caught the crazy beasts....

or should I say....crazy babies....
yup...just tiny little squirrels....
A two-for-one special that night!

The trap caught two!!
Jack and Jill....

After he gets them down from the attic...
James says to me...
"What do we do with them?"
Ummm....
Me: "Drown them in the pool."
James: "Sarah, they're just babies!"
Me: "What happened to Mr. Checkmate?"
James: "I'll take them to a park and let them
out so they can find a new home."
Aww....checkmate, indeed.

Stinkin' squirrel....I can't even imagine the
damage TWO of them made up there!
I guess we'll find out eventually, since neither James
nor I have any plans to go wanderin' up in the attic!

OK, that conversation between you and James cracked me up! and how cute were they! Too bad they were damaging your house, cause that's no fun, but they are pretty cute!

plus I didn't want squirrel disease in my pool.

I don’t believe that you’d be able to drown those poor things in the pool! You’re all talk Sarah! :-)
I have to admit, they are awfully cute!

she wouldn't be able to do it herself. the internet site I was reading said to squeeze their chests, and then their heart would stop. The whole idea was that if you let them go, and they're used to living in attics, they'll just go to some other attic. Well, if they do go to someone else's attic, THEY can drown them in the pool. I might have felt different if they weren't babies. It's not their fault they were born in our attic. If I ever find their parents, though...

HA HA HA HA HA BRAVO! yes isn't victory so DANG SWEET!

Squeezing them is mean too. You should give squirrels a proper death. Running them over with a car is what is expected (give them the fighting chance of dodging the tires).
Looks like you work just as much as I do now with your new job James! :-)

Awww, James has a heart! They may be orphaned babies since the poison was already put up there... So you may have already gotten your revenge on the parents. Ya'll just have to figure out where they got in, so no more come!

I don't really have a heart...I'm just squeamish...that's why I abandoned my original career choice of being a doctor (plus I have a shaky hand, I realized that anasthesiologists still have to do all the regular doctor stuff in med school, and why would I go to med school after barely making it through my undergrad degree alive?). I think the babies actually ate the poison...I'm pretty sure there were no adults up there when I put the poison up there. There wasn't really that much poison, though. Maybe it didn't kill them. Or maybe now that I let poisoned squirrels loose in a Grand Prairie park, I've started a chain reaction up the food chain which will eventually kill off 40% of the Grand Prairie wildlife and a couple of dogs (hopefully more than a few cats, too. Told you I didn't have a heart, Kelli).

Hopefully the Llamas down the road are safe, though. Bella likes those.

Hey, since Kelli's been in the animal adoption business lately, maybe you can give them to her! ;p

Congratulations on your catch!!
At least your scratching was squirrels and not rats! I still have nightmares about our old place with the rats! I have a great fear of attics after that experience!
Cary tells me that that is the advantage to living in the dirty South: Warm winters, rats and huge roaches! YUK!
