After Bingo, we headed over to ride some horses....Bella had been talking about riding horses all day, and was so excited to hop up on one! They were the cutest little horsies, too!
I was surprised when the lady said "Sure, the little one can ride, too" and just held onto her as they went round and round! Aube had the most serious little face as she rode!
The picnic had several kiddo areas, with a Dino Dig, balloon animals, play ground, several bounce houses, petting zoo....we tried to hit each area but there was just SO MUCH TO DO!!!Bella wanted a butterfly on her face, and did so well sitting for the lady to paint her face! Aube...not so much. But we were kinda ticked b/c the lady wasn't patient at all and didn't even give Aube a chance to sit still! Of course little kids are going to jerk a little! So, she got a lame little heart on her arm...
They had a rodeo going on twice that night...we opted to go to the later one, so we could catch the fireworks at the end. The rodeo was a ton of fun! The girls were clapping and ye-hawing for the buckin' broncos and "mean" bulls (as Bella called them). My flash stinks, so I had to do a little sepia on the pictures to make them see-able. But that rustic look totally goes with the atmosphere!
After the rodeo, they dimmed the lights and the announcer says "Get ready for the best firework show of the year" and we are all "uh huh, yeah whatever"....but you know what, even with all the wind...it was TOTALLY RAD! They lit up the XTO sign and BAM....crazy fireworks, totally even better than the 4th!! We forgot how Bella hates the loud noise, but I convinced her was still awesome, even if it was loud!
Seriously....too much fun! I cannot believe what a blast we had! Next time we are totally riding the mechanical bull, though...can't believe we passed that up. They were closing it down too early!

That is so cool you won a camera!!! We left early, around 8. We should have stayed to check the raffle dang it!
Funny thing about that blonde cowgirl with Aube. She told us to take the balloons far away so they didn't pop and scare the horses. As soon as Thomas picked them up to take them away, one of them popped and both cowgirls got mad at us like we popped them on purpose. It is all about timing I guess! Oh well, we were looking for an excuse to get rid of them anyway, so we didn't have to carry them around all night...
Holy cow, that looks like fun!!! What is the XTO? And a camera to top it off!! And then a football game!! What an awesome weekend. I can't wait until you post about the game;)
Wow, what a great company! Looks like you had an awesome time! And I love Bella's butterfly!
Congrats on the camera. LOOOVE the butterfly.
I seriously jealous. I've never ridden a horse, or a pony. :(
I think I'd settle for either. Maybe even a sheep or something in the horse-family.
So cool to see TRENT in your comments Sarah! And I agree with Trent... I am SO JEALOUS that you guys got to ride horses!! Bella and Aubree looked like professionals... so ONE DAY when WE have horses (hahaha) they'll have to come and ride them, and feed them, and take care of them (cause we'll be too old!!)...
What a super great day! Looks like you had a blast, and cool on a new camera!
Wow! That looks like so much fun! And Trent, there is a place that gives pony rides just down the street from us. Say the word, and I'll make an appt.
What a fun party! They seriously went all out! They must be raking in the gas money.....! I am so jealous, I wanna win a new camera! I am in charge of the face painting at the ward trunk or treat, how the heck did they do that amazing butterfly?
That's awesome that you won that camera...and perfect for you since you are so great at blogging and scrapbooking!! :) Looks like you guys had a blast!! :)
That's so cool that you won a camera! What a great company party. And the girls look adorable on the horses.
XTO is the name of the company I work for, Krista. As cool as the picnic was, I've heard from a few people that the zoo was better. Maybe they'll go back to it next year.
That looks like SO MUCH FUN!!! Are you enjoying that fancy new camera yet?!
Dang!! That was all from your company??? Niiiice!!
Hello?? Where are our Cowboys? Pictures of Witten from behind (did I just say that?) Proof that the new camera is super sweet? (I looked it up, seems like a pretty nice point & shoot!)
I keep looking for open jobs at XTO for John since he's going to be a Geologist. That company has so much money but they are really good at giving it back (which is more than you can say for some companies!)
