The Crafty Crow has some cute craft ideas to do with kids today to help them REUSE. I think taking a moment to do a craft with a child is the best way to teach.
Make and Takes has some great tips on RECYCLING.
Simple Mom gives us 40 tips to go Greener, besides Recycling. She gives a great idea on how to Create a Compost for $15.
Composting is one thing I would LOVE to do! My dad built this awesome compost pile in their backyard and I've been inspired ever since. I'm scared of what critters and bugs it would attract here in TX, tho...yikes! And if I'm going to compost, I then need to plant a garden to have a use for the compost. My parents are truly inspirational when it comes to all things Earth-y. They even recently bought some baby chickens, so one day they will have fresh eggs! And their effort towards food storage is tremendous (but that's a whole other topic).
So...what will you do today? It might seem like anything you do is too small and won't make a difference (I know I feel that way). But if we ALL do the small and simple things, not just today but everyday, it will make an impact. Every day is Earth Day!

I walked to the store this morning and recycled some cans! However, it's great that I recycled, but in MI, if you don't, you lose your 10 cent bottle/can deposit. I recycled cans in Arkansas and even picked some up on walks to help keep the community clean. I felt better about doing it on my own than being forced to, so I can get my money back :( Oh well, either way, the cans didn't end up in the garbage I guess!! Happy Earth Day to you!
so you aren't going to keep all the lights on in the house anymore?
Anymore...you are a punk...and not home all day. I never have the lights on during the day b/c there is enough light from the skylight! At night is a different story, tho...and yes, I'll do better and not leave them on all night!
I totally need to recycle. I keep meaning to get those bins yet I never call. Ugh!
SO, how did your Earth day go? I'm afraid I made a boo-boo... I bought a case of bottled waters yesterday. Oops. It was for school lunches though, if that counts...
Er...I can't drink anything but bottled water! So, my goal is to one day recycle them...
But we did plant a tree! I'm gonna post about it today, I think. :)
