Running...

There is this new thing I've been trying...and no, thats not taking my kids out for fresh air, haha. The weather in Texas is very fickle...sometimes it's nice and beautiful and warm with a cool breeze and it's bliss....then it will rain for a week. So, since its "winter" here...I've been trying to take advantage of the REALLY nice afternoons and take the kids to the park. I finally found one where we are usually the only ones there, which is awesome (cause you know how I feel about that...). And in an effort to get their 'crazies' out...I make them RUN.

Yup...that's right, RUN.
Bella's doctor has sent me to a nutritionist for her several times now. And I really do my best. I let her have sweets here and there, but its not like she is having them all day long....I feed her fruits and vegetables. Seriously, I try! But it's not doing anything...and so I'm trying something different....RUNNING. I'm not a drill sergeant...I make it fun. So, we go to the park and we throw the ball around. Actually, I throw...they chase. I kick...they chase and kick. And they think its FUN (for like 20 minutes). I'm hoping if we do this consistently, combined with watching what she eats, it will make a difference.

Bella cracks me up, tho...yesterday we drove past a man running down the street. And she asked what he was doing...so I told her he was running for exercise. And she says to me "Why is he running?" So, I told her that he was running because he likes it and its good exercise. She says "Thats what we do at the park, but can we run on the street?" Ummm, sure sweets...maybe on a sidewalk, but you can run to your hearts content.

And then there's this chick:

You mean that you don't run WITH them??? Thata girl! I hate running..... maybe that is why my butt is so big, I am sure it has nothing to do with Lays Potato Chips...... I can't wait to come and see you...only 17 more days!!! (I will bring some static guard for Aub Hee hee)

You are totally doing it the right way. The important thing is to teach them about being outside instead of cooped up playing video games and watching TV non-stop. Then they want to go and do these things for fun and it continues to be a learned behavior.

Hasn't the weather been nice!!! I feel guilty that we didn't take more advantage of it. Already getting colder now. :(

The girls are so cute - as always. :)

I have a pic of Jordyn just like Aube's. I love it. That's a great way to get exercise as well.
