Pop goes the weasel....

We have this ice cream truck that drives around our neighborhood....has been, for like a year or two now. And we neeeeeever let the girls get anything. Why? Cause we are mean. Or.....because ice cream trucks are creepy. You know I'm not kiddng either.

But then one day, for some odd reason...ALL of our neighborhood kids (like the two families with kids on our street, the rest are geezers, sorry...they are. Old people, and nice, so I take back the geezer remark, some are nosey middle aged women.) were out getting ice cream. All at once. It was a phenomenon. This truck has been driving by for the year or two...and I've never seen anyone stop it. Weird.

Anyways. I do have a point. Well, maybe not. But the pictures are cute.

Anyways. One night, the truck slooooowly drove down the street (creepy) and we actually had some cash, which never happens....so Daddy took the girls out to the curb to wait.
The girls got to pick out their VERY OWN popsicle....James had to admit, he just wanted to get one, too! And okay, I admit it, too...I wanted one of my very own. Who can resist that much sugar?
And the creepy  nice ice cream truck driver must have noticed me trying to be sly and snap a quick picture....cause he opened the door and let the girls climb up in for a photo-op. I apologize....but I have to admit, my heart skipped a beat when they were climbing up into that truck....I really hoped the dude only had one speed.....slow, so no speeding off with my chillen's.
They were so happy to get their ghetto-pops.

And now we have created monsters...everytime we hear that dang truck, slowly creeping up the street, blaring Pop Goes the Weasel....well....you can only imagine.

ha! You made me laugh out loud with the "ghetto pops" comment..oh and the fear of him driving off with your monkeys! What a fun thing, though! We always hear them, but never see them.

And yes, they are creepy!

Now you're in trouble!! So here is a little story for you: When I was little we loved "Sid" the ice-cream man. He was so funny and made us all giggle. Then one day he stopped coming........... I asked my mom what happened to Sid? She said, "Well, he had to stop coming because he did something that wasn't very nice to a little girl" YOU ARE RIGHT!!! THEY ARE CREEPY!!! Glad Daddy was with them........

"MommaLove" was right on with this one. A very large amount of those ice cream truck drivers are ex-felons for various naughty things they have done. But, I remember being so excited to run out to the ice cream truck when I was a kid, so I would think that as long as they are supervised (and only really dim-witted people don't supervise their kids) what a great memory you are giving them. PS. I had the same thought about the guy driving off when I saw the picture. Love this post!

You are too funny! We never bought our kids popcycles either because I knew they would be begging for them everytime they heard that dang music! And ours comes EVERY day!! And usually plays Christmas music year round!! :)
