Once again....I give you: Twinerds!

Oh yes....it's happened again....
Crazy mom's heading out in their handmade tshirts...giggling and talking about how sparkly Edward is.....staying up entirely too late and way past their bedtimes to watch vampires and werewolves run amuck. Yes...yes, I'm talking about the midnight premiere of the 4th Twilight movie.
We went, we loved it, and we {ok just me} went to see it again the next night.
Miss S and I brainstormed for weeks on what to do for our shirts this year. I came across a cute onesie idea by Ashley Ann......and thought, well...wouldn't that be cute on a grown-up shirt....and it definitely fits....cause we are definitely....
 TWINERDS.
What is a Twinerd, you say??
{James had the audacity to mispronounce it}
Well...they are lovely ladies who read Twilight over and over and LOVE IT. People may laugh, people may criticize, but we don't care, because Nerds stick with it!
{At least we have a better name than the Harry Potter nerds or HarryNerds...eeewwww}
It's so much fun, I tell ya....acting young and having a blast!
You should try it sometime....

TwiNerds....

...that's the best way to describe us. Well...a good way to describe lots of women out there who have read the books and gotten caught up in the phenomenon that is everything Twilight. We love it!! Like Shelley's husband says...it's good to be passionate about something...even if that something is sparkle-y vampires :).

So...we three went to see the Twilight TRILOGY...not just the premiere of Eclipse, but the whole she-bang, Uno, Dos, Tres. It was a great experience...the screaming every time Jacob took his shirt off (which is mostly all thru New Moon), the chick sitting behind us that thought she should narrate all thru Twilight, Shelley and her neck pillow, the staff dressing up as Twilight characters, the bags full of junk food, me almost winning a free tshirt but I couldn't think of the name for the actor playing Victoria!!!!!!! Gah! I KNEW it, but totally had a brain fart.
Like I said before, the theater people dressed up as characters from the movie...the mc-dude was Jasper :). They had trivia and giveaways all thru the movie intermissions. They had these life-size Edward and Jacob figures...who were actually given away to 2 lucky people (not us...cause we're not lucky like that). They had a poll Team Edward vs Team Jacob...and of course Edward won!
The movie itself was really good! I enjoy seeing the books on the big screen...thru all three movies, they really do keep the integrity of the books, and I love that! There were some funny little quips added, such as: "Doesn't that guy ever keep his shirt on?" Or something along those lines...said by Edward, talking about Jacob...and it was SO TRUE...obviously, since we were deaf from all the screaming during New Moon. And then "Let's face it, I'm hotter than you." ...said by Jacob, talking to Edward.

I'm now doubly excited to see Breaking Dawn...so I googled the release date and it looks like November 11, 2011, which is absolutely ridiculous, so I hope that's not true! Over a year to wait?? That's just not nice! And then the 2nd part in 2012...have they not seen that movie?! lol...I'd like to finish the saga before the world ends! (kidding, people, kidding)

As we are TRUE TwiNerds....we made shirts for the occasion!
We are definitely OCD....obsessed with the good stuff! We cut out the letters and appliqued them to the shirt...then hand-stitched them on. The "obsessive Cullen disorder" is done with a Cricut and freezer paper (which I'm now addicted to...freezer paper stencils, more on that to come...).
Then we dazzled it up...why?? Because the Cullens' SPARKLE!
I made us some necklaces as a little souvenier for the night. If you look up at the pic of all 3 of us, you'll see them...if you click on this image below...it prints out very nicely and you can make it into just about anything. I REALLY wanted a shirt that looked like this...but, I'm not quite that talented....yet Ü.
I'm going to see the movie again on Saturday and I'm super excited! It will be interesting to see what I missed due to complete exhaustion at 1am!!

8 days, 11 hours, 45 minutes....

That's right...it's ALMOST HERE....(insert squeal here....)
If you need me Tuesday, the 29th...you can find me sitting in the theater for ALL THREE MOVIES. Yup...last year, we saw Twilight, then the midnight showing of New Moon.  And it was awesome. Well...this year, some crazy chicks from my ward and I decided to dive right in and see Twilight, New Moon and then the midnight showing of Eclipse! We're even making shirts (insert squeal here....)...which is proving to be muy difficult, but it will be worth it!
You'll have to excuse me, I need to get back to reading Eclipse....again....for the third time.
Dork much......nope! We call it being a TwiNerd....and proud of it!! If you can't get excited about something, where's the fun in life?!

I <3 New Moon!

My friend Katie and I braved the midnight showing of New Moon and survived! We were both a bit zombie-ish the next day....but it was totally worth it!! We thought we might be a tad bit mad for going to see the 1st movie at 9...then watching New Moon right after it, but that turned out to be SO SMART. Why? We walked right into Twilight (we got there 1 1/2 hours early)...then they let us stay in our seats for New Moon!! We only had a little bit of down time before the first movie started...but we filled the time with some candy, popcorn and Phase 10. lol. Ü

LOVED the movie....The Twilight series is at the top of my favorite books list. So, it's amazing to see it on the big screen...and the writers of these films have done such an awesome job keeping the integrity of the story line. They deviate only on small things (like Bella hopping on the back of the motorcycle or Victoria giving Harry Clearwater the heart attack) and I'm so grateful for that...cause I've got a really big visual side, I like to SEE it, ya know? And there is nothing like ruining a moment ....ahem, My Sisters Keeper or The Other Boleyn Girl. Bleh.
Dislikes: Ummm....can't think of anything right now, lol. Other than Jasper's hair and Alice's lunch-lady outfits. Oh...and I didn't like that I got heartburn and forgot to bring my Pepcid.

I'm totally on Team Edward...just love that dude. But Jacob is the comic relief "What a marshmallow" hahahaha. Funny kid. He made for some mad drooling moments too...I don't think he took his shirt off enough!
Poor Edward looked so awful-ly beautiful when he was going to make his request to the Volturri. That was a good visualization of the book for me...he leaves her and it's so devastating for Bella, but you can see the toll it took on him too.

Anyways, James is reading this over my shoulder and embarrassing me because I just love these books so much and could talk about the characters like they are REAL PEOPLE. Thank you, Stephenie Meyers, for having such good dreams. Ü

Who wants to go see it again?

New Moon A to Z

Since tonite is the ACTUAL New Moon ...I thought it hightly appropriate to give an A to Z on MY New Moon Ü. T-Minus 2 1/2 days and counting. (Thank you to PEOPLE magazine for help in this list...I had the mag gifted to me and I can't stop drooling over it!)

A ~ Animal Attraction
In Twilight's sequel, vampire bait Bella finds herself drawn to her pal Jacob - a werewolf.
Ooooo....like we DIDN'T know. Ok, maybe SOME of you didn't know. But that's like 2% of the very UNCOOL population. A little bit more on animal attraction....is Bella ever really "attracted" to Jacob...I dunno. I finished reading the book again this past week...and she has a conversation with herself about how she could fall in love with him and how she could have a semi-safe-ish, normal life. But Edward-drama sweeps in right in time Ü.

B~ is for Bella. Run, Bella, Run! No matter how many times I read this book...I start reading fast thru this part just so I can find out if she gets to Edward in time!

C ~ "CLAUDIA" When Robert Pattison was a kid, his sisters gave him this girl's name and put him in dresses. Poor kid.

D~ as in Death Cab for Cutie....rockin' the soundtrack, which I have almost bought 7 times...but always put it back. I've got to get it SOON!

E~ is for SWOON...errr....I mean Edward. New Moon is probably my most favorite book in the series. I don't know why...but I really feel the heartache when Edward leaves Bella. Maybe it's the hormones, but it makes me cry everytime. Then she keeps seeing him...I just love that part.F~ FORKS. Fan-pires flock to this small town (pop 3120) to check out where the series takes place. And yes...I want to be one of those "fan-pires" in the near future. Wouldn't that be a spectacular girls weekend?

G~ is for guitars. How did the cast bond off-camera? Jam sessions where Pattison and his costars played guitars.

H~ Hedge Mazes....that's right....HEDGE MAZES in the shape of Edward and Jacob's faces. In Utah. Yes, I can believe it. I~ Italy. Ciao, Montepulciano! Mmm...I dream of Italy.

J~ Jasper needs to quit freakin' out. Dude, so uncool.

K~Kellan Lutz, who plays Emmett...is quite the prankster, pulling lots of them on set.

L~ Love Triangle. Bella loves Edward, Edwards loves Bella, Edward leaves and breaks Bella's heart, Bella recoops by spending all her time with Jacob, Jacob loves Bella, Bella just wants to be friends, Bella runs off to save Edward, Jacob gets mad but still loves Bella. Edward comes back and they live happily ever after....kinda.

M~is for Merchandise. It's out there! Lots and lots and lots of it. But did you know they make Barbies, too? lol. I just had to laugh when I saw this. They better hope I don't buy them for my girls (Bella sees the preview for New Moon and wants to go see it!) Cause we only specialize in nakie barbies at this house.

N~ is for its NEARLY HERE. (In PEOPLE, they talked about Noot Seear being the Volturi temptress, Heidi...but really? She has such a minute part, who cares? Tho, this chick does look like a vampire.)

O~ is for OH my...I can't wait to see Jacob turn into a wolf. When I saw that preview for the first time, I was so happy...cause I was so worried it would be all cheesy-shmeezy...but tho I love the movie Twilight, it's low budget and you can tell. But #2 got more money, and thank goodness!

P~ PAPERCUT! One little tiny cut started so much drama, did it not?Q~ is for Quileutes. And don't ask me to say that name! Qw-i-loo-eshanana?
R~ Ray-bans. Very good question....why does a vampire need shades? But it's ok cause they are Ray-bans and he looks hawt.

S~ is for Stephenie Meyer...the multimillionaire. Oh how I wish I could have had her dream ;).

T~ TAYLOR Lautner...who looks laughable in long hair. But he packed on 30 lbs of muscle...wowza...so it's ok.U~ is for U GOTTA BE KIDDING, LAURENT. I bet, as he's running away being chased by a pack of over-sized wolves, he's thinking "dangit". haha.V~ Volturi...and I'm thinking it may be hard to see Dakota Fanning as the bad guy. I still see her as that little girl in "I am Sam."W~ Weitz...the director of New Moon. Or "is for I can't WAIT" YAY!!!

X~ is for Xtreme Martial Arts...Lautner is this sport's four-time world champ.

Y~ is for YO...Victoria! is that your real haircolor?

Z~ Zealous fans...helped the first film rake in about $200 million last year. I wonder how much the 2nd one will bring in! They are gonna get my $9.50 at Midnight on Thursday! Woohoo. (And my $6.50 to see the 1st movie before hand...and my $11 for the large popcorn combo and my $6 for candy....)

And there you go Ü.

Your daily dose of....New Moon

Today I bought my tickets to go see the movie...yay!! And, surprise surprise...at that theater, they are playing Twilight BEFORE it....so, of course, we bought those tickets, too. And yes...that is FOUR+ HOURS of Twilight Saga we will be seeing that night (thank you, Katie for agreeing to accompany me on this craziness). Can you say excited?
So, here are some pics for your daily dose....some of my favorite parts of the book...the grandmother dream....the movie theater scene...anything that has to do with Edward, Jacob and Bella (you mean the whole thing?)...and of course, the Volturi...can't wait to meet them Ü. I started reading the book...even tho I'm not quite done with Julie and Julia by Julie Powell...I just couldn't hold off any longer. So, somehow...I am reading 2 (3 if you count my daily scripture study...thank you Elder Holland) books at a time. Go me! Ü

You're welcome Ü.

Pictures from Twilight

Thank you to Bonnie for taking pictures!! It's always grand when someone remembers their camera!
These group of girls were so much fun! We were in shock that they didn't have a ginormous Twilight poster up somewhere for us to pose in front of!! Totally lame....It's always fantastic to see Bonnie (and Julie, though I didnt get a picture with her!)! Thank goodness for blogs, right? At least we can catch up with each other that way.
And of course Jenni...aka Bonnie's sis, Ashley's college friend ;), and Derek-the-picture-ruiner. hehe.

Good stuff, I can't wait to go and see it again!

{Thoughts on Breaking Dawn} ***SPOILER***

For the last couple of days, I've been basking in the sunshine that is Breaking Dawn! I know alot have read this book, and that there are mixed reviews. I guess there is not a book out there that someone doesn't hate or love!
I have to say THANKS to my sis, Emmalee...she was the one who told me how amazing the Twilight series was...She and my other sis, Laura, went to the midnight release of New Moon....which I opted out of going to! Man! What was I thinking?! :) I shied away from reading the series for a very long time, passing it off as a young adult book...but when I FINALLY gave up and read Twilight...I couldn't stop reading till I was all the way thru New Moon. And then waited patiently for the 4th and "final" book in this series. I say "final" because I don't believe Stephenie Meyer could STOP here! Those who have read the book may see what I am trying to say. She leaves the book in a way that it could truly go on and on! Especially to tell how Renesmee grows and lives with her life entwined with Jacob! Or maybe its just that I soooo enjoy the way the author writes, that I hope for more and more books!
With Breaking Dawn, there were MANY MANY parts that I truly loved, and touched my heart even! I loved that Edward got Bella (love that name!!) pregnant! Hehe, that in this Twilight reality, that was actually an option! AND that it happened AFTER MARRIAGE, thank you VERY much! And now Bella, selfish of all selfishness, would become a MOTHER, thus helping Mrs Meyer's "older" audience (yes, thats us, ladies) have a connection. Anyways....my most favorite parts of this book occur when Bella becomes a mother...feeling that connection, not wanting them to take her baby, even though it was beating the crap out of her....breaking her spine and such :S. Then when the child is born, feeling so protective over it....to the point that her "power" as a vampire become creating a SHEILD for those around her, a mind sheild that later becomes the "good" vampire's saving point!
And thus we come to the widely talked about "problem" with this 4th book....ahhh....everything works out too perfectly. Too perfectly?? For Heaven's sake, people...its a book, for one...and for another...what is SO bad with things working out for the best? There was a good amount of conflict, or so I thought! And personally, my fave kind of book is when the guy gets the girl (and daughter in this case) and friends/family stay intact! I can't bear it when there isn't a happy ever after Ü.
I give Breaking Dawn five stars and two thumbs up!

Counting down the days!

Seriously...
FOUR DAYS.
I am in the middle of a crazy long book and I'm reading like a MAD WOMAN to try and get finished so I can start Breaking Dawn in FOUR DAYS...woohoo!!
If I didn't have visitors all weekend...I would totally throw a "Who do you love?" Party...and totally make ya'll these invites.
Ahh...maybe next time.
I'm soooo excited!
