Can a child really have too much applique??

I mean, really??
I found this adorable black romper at a thrift store a few weeks ago...and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it the minute I saw it! The template can be found over at Crap I've Made (Isn't that the best blog name, makes me smile Ü). Every little boy wants to be a pirate, right?!
And don't forget the ties....OH! the ties!! This kid is going to be stocked up on ties for church!
I'm trying to figure out a way to make a missionary tag for the black tie onesie. Ü
The next question: Can anyone tell me why I am up at midnight blogging? So absurd. I do this every night, tho....11:30/12 o'clock rolls around and I'm STILL AWAKE. Why? I should have been asleep 2 hours ago when Jax went down. He tends to not wake up (hopefully) until 2:30-3am...but these babies are just so unreliable.

Hahaha.. I'm wide awake too! And maybe its because your body's so used to staying up (like mine) from working!

And I LOVE your appliques! They are so adorable!! :) Jealous of your craftiness!! ;)

Soooo cute! I seriously need to get one of those tie shirts!! And I stay up way too late too. It was 11:30 last night for me as well. I think we are just used to being able to have some time to ourselves after we put the older ones to bed:)

I love the pirate onesie! I've been wanting to do some applique. I even have the onesies! Just need to get myself to the fabric store to get some fabric.

I love these so much. Can you tell me where there's a tutorial? I saw the skater one on the other blog, but I couldn't find any tutorial...

Ahh...my bad...it wasn't a tutorial, more like a TEMPLATE. Then all you do is 1. cut out the template, 2. cut out whatever fabric you want...3. then back it with some Wonder Under or any kind of applique stuff (there is packets of it at Walmart for $1.49 in the fabric section)....iron it on, 4. then stitch around the edges. And voila! Easy cheesey.

The tutorial they do on that website is for using the template as a stencil and using bleach to make the image. Which sounds cool in theory...but I don't see me pulling THAT off with out some catastrophe! :)
