i ♥ thrift stores

It's seriously my guilty-pleasure....
tho I don't feel too guilty because I came home with:
24 Jax shirts
11 Jax pants
1 pair of overalls {hot-diggity, he looks cute in them}
2 hats
3 Halloween shirts for the girls
3 Mommy skirts
3 kids skirts
1 Bella pants
1 bonnet {yes, a bonnet...couldn't pass it up for 69 cents, perfect for dress up!}
allllll for $60. Yup. Last week my fave thrift store: Thrift Town had a 1/2 price on clothes sale. I usually don't go on that day b/c it's usually a elbowing extravaganza. But Jax doesn't have ANY clothes bigger than what he's wearing now....so I had to stock up, since the winds changed and its now FALL {faaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllll, i love you}.
The poor boy didn't even have a pair of pants to wear! Welp, now he's all set.
I know, I know...thrift stores, yuck. Well, don't turn up your nose...if you've never been to a Thrift Town and there is one in your town...you betta go. It's not spic and span, I still feel the need to use hand sanitizer afterwards...but the clothes are all color-coordinated, and in great shape! It's a little more expensive {thus the reason I got so much on 1/2 price day} than a normal thrift store...but Im ok with that. I'll pay $2 for a Childrens Place onesie. Yup.
I couldn't pass this baby up...seriously, I almost cried with joy when I found it.
He's gonna wear this 3 times a week when if finally fits him!
So! Go support your local thrift store...donate and BUY!!!

Wal-mart... do they like make walls there? ~Paris Hilton

I'm a chronic return-er. Probably because I'm a chronic shopper a la guilt. I go shopping for my "Retail Therapy" and love it...but then I get home and the guilt sets in and I start going thru my purchases wondering what I can take back. This is so bad, that one of the ladies at Walmart in South GP knows who we are. Walmart is one of the places I am constantly returning stuff (esp since they will take ANYTHING back)...so I try to mix it up, varying my returns to 3 different store. The first time I realized I was returning too much stuff to one store was when that lady said "Oh, there you are with the pretty little girl with the curly hair." Ummm...ok. I haven't returned anything to that store in months, then last week I took something back and she recognized us AGAIN! I'm hoping she just has a good memory and we didn't make THAT good of an impression!

Anyways, today I took back over $100 worth of merchandise. Last week I was shopping quite a bit to get ready for this trip. I bought the girls 2 swimming suits each, shoes, beach toys, etc. Then in a moment of genius on Saturday...I stopped by Kid-to-Kid, a discount childrens store. And viola! there I found two decent-looking swimsuits for each of them for the price of ONE of the suits I bought at Target or Kohls. Gah! Why didn't I think of that in the first place?

But thankfully, I was able to subdue alot of my 'guilt' today with my return. And because that guilt was subdued, I came home with these babies (and a cool shirt): These are seriously the coolest, wacked-out cups. They are all wonky, but surprisingly enough, they fit perfectly in the hand. And yes....I only bought two...it was buy one, get one for $1. I was trying to be frugal and thought "Who cares if we don't have a SET...I'm the person who owns old McDonalds cups...I obviously don't care about my glassware being chic".

On to other things:
Yes, we have been bottle free for 2 days...by her choice, which is nice. She just hasn't asked for one. Odd...but I'll take it.

I think we are substituting other things to take to night-night with us. Such as....she slept in Bella's tap shoes last night, and her BeastnBelle skirt.
And for naps today, a tutu and her phone. Ü

Such is life.

There's no place like home....

For the past week, I have been scoping out the adds for "Black Friday" looking here and there, deciding which shops to go to. I've never gone out shopping on the day after Thanksgiving....never really brave enough to be out in the crowds, but this year I found a couple things for the girls and for other family members that I just couldn't pass up! And maybe it was the stores (I heard the malls were bad) I chose...but it wasn't bad at all! Kohls had some nice lines, but when I checked out they had thinned out. And Target wasn't any worse than any other day! Fun, fun...and I didn't have to get up at the buttcrack of dawn either. Top it off with lunch at Chili's with Kelli and Corgan...and you could say I had a fantastic morning!
Oh and I found these shoes...LOVE THEM. OH man. And hopefully with the help of Ashley, I'll find the perfect dress for James' work party next weekend! I LOVE THESE SHOES (have I said that already?) I have always wanted a red pair of shoes...and these are my perfect ruby slippers! James thinks I'll wind up breaking my leg, but we shall see....he owes me $50 if I stay upright all night!
Sigh.

Little bit of this...little bit of that.

Hi, my name is Sarah, and I'm a Goodwill addict. It has been 2 days since my last shopping spree there. Before that...it had been TWO YEARS. I thought I could hold it off, but I succumbed once again, I made a little trip Wednesday after working out. Look-ee what I found!

The last apartment we occupied in Las Vegas was around the corner from a Goodwill...one that I would visit almost on a constant basis. I LOVED their 25 cent book days and 50 cent kids clothes days.....which is where I found THE BEST tye-dye shirt for Bella, which she STILL wears after 3 years! Anyways...it's a true addiction, I love browsing, finding odd things here and there. When I leave, I feel like I need to take a bath in bleach....but it's oh so worth it! Ü

**I'm so excited to paint that ugly shelf white for the girls room! And it was only $3!

Binky Bear (poodle)

Well...we have done it.
I am embarrassed to say that yes,
Bella has used a binky (only) when she sleeps
up until today...I did try to wean her last week
but she started to throw such a fit and not sleep
at all, we decided to try an idea that my friend, Krista used.
We took her to the mall tonight, ate fun food, rode the carousel
(the guy even let Aube ride for free, yay)
and then took her to Build-a-Bear.
She picked out her poodle...put the binky inside,
helped to stuff it, wished on the heart, then sewed it up!
Bella and Aube had a blast brushing the doggie,
then Bella picked out a cute ballerina outfit for it.
We just finished putting her to bed, and of course she asks
for her binky, but I figured it wouldn't be an easy road.
But it is something that has to be done...she can't suck
on that thing forever! I'm sure she will get the hang of it.
And I'm thinking that since Aubree doesn't show much
interest in the bink (yay) I'm just gonna cut it out now.
Why set us up for going throught this ordeal again?
I don't think I would change a thing, but...
We live, we learn...and will hopefully be binky free!
