Love Letter: To the Two.

Dearest Isabella Ruth and Aubree Susanna,

On this Mother's Day, I wanted to tell you two how much I love you and how much I enjoy being your mother! I couldn't ask for sweeter children! You make it easy to be a mommy sometimes. I feel that I'm not always the mommy you deserve, though....I let things bother me, I let the world tell me that I don't get enough from being just your mom. Being a mother can seem to be un-rewarding....there are days when I cook for you, clean you, play with you, teach you, keep you busy and what do I get.....what would seem to some as a whole lotta nothin'.....
But deep in my heart, I know this is not true....I know that my "reward" for mothering won't come in the form of money or presents or something I can see...my reward will be in the small things, the things not seen or heard, but sometimes will just be felt. Please look over this fault of mine...for on the outside I may seem disappointed but on the inside I will always know what I am doing for you is important and guided by the Lord. Being a mother may feel unrewarding, but it will never be unfulfilling!
I hope for you on this Mother's Day...that you will know how much you are loved. The love that I feel for you is so true and so deep, you will never find another (maybe your Dad...but I'm still first in line) who will love and care for you as I do. I would do anything for you.....

There is a saying that I love:
Before you were conceived, I wanted you. Before you were born, I loved you. Before you were here an hour, I would give my life for you. This is the miracle of life.

You are my miracles.

A Love Letter: To My Mother

Dear Mom,
Today, for my Sharing Time lesson, as part of my lesson, I passed around a few pictures of the two of us when I was young. I introduced the pictures, saying “This is someone very special to me” and the tears started to fall! I felt like such a goober, bawling in front of my Sunbeams, Stars and CTR 5/6! One child said to me, “You must really love your mommy”, another complimented me with “You look just like your mommy did.” And all I could do was smile thru my tears and say, Yes, I do love my mommy very, very much....and thank you for the compliment, my mommy is very beautiful!
I love it when I look at my life and think, I am just like you. I couldn't ask for a better example! You have been a source of light in my life....constantly guiding me as an infant, a child, a teenager, a young adult, and now I look to that light to learn how to be a mother to my children. I know that life is not easy for you, for any mother.....our responsibilities are numerous and often unrewarding. I hope to live my life and raise my children in a way that you can be proud of us, so that you might see THAT as your reward.
It breaks my heart that we are so far apart! I hope one day we live in a place where we can see each other on a daily basis and my children can see their totally fabulous Gramma whenever they want! One day!
I appreciate you and all that you do, I love you with all of my heart! I hope that this Mother's Day you were treated like the Queen you are!
LOVE, Sarah Ü

A Love Letter: 43 months

Darling Bella,

You are 43 months old today! I wanted to take this time to do a couple of things....I want to let you know how much I love you and I want to tell you how proud I am of the progress you have been making in all aspects of your life.

I really don't know if words can really express my love for you. You truly are a magnificent child. I watch you on a daily basis, you are quick to love and smile. Quick to be crazy and carefree. And yes, quick to be stubborn and mischievous, that is for sure! Your Daddy says you get your temperament from your Mother. I have to agree and apologize for passing that down to you! But later in life, I hope this stubbornness pays off!
I love when you go to Aubree when she is crying and say "I love Aube." She follows your example in everything you do....hopefully one day you will realize what an important part you play in her life.

Speech therapy is coming to an end...only 4 more weeks of the school year left. I am ecstatic about the progress you have made. Miss Lester has worked with you on colors, animals, getting you to tell her whats happening in a story and working with the phrase "I want..." Doesn't seem like alot, but when I hear you say "I want a snack" something so simple, I am over-joyed! You can have whatever you want when you ask for it in a SENTENCE! I even love to hear you boss Aube around in sentences!

You have become obsessed with bugs. I guess this didn't JUST happen...you have always had an interest. But since the termite fiasco, you like to point out every bug you see...sometimes getting down on your hands and knee's to inspect the creature. I need to invest in a magnifying glass so you can get an even closer view.

Your first Blast Ball game was this month, and what a sight you are on that field...when you stay on the field! They seem to think you are a lefty, by the way you hold your bat...you can knock it a good distance, then skip down to the base...a hilarious sight. This summer I want to sign you up for these Dance Parties they are having at a dance studio around the corner. From the pictures on the website, they dress you up and have a theme for each one...it looks like a blast. And this fall, I plan to sign you up in their dance class...where you'll be able to learn ballet and tap. I'm excited about the ballet part, since you dance around like the 12 Dancing Princesses whenever music is played! I think you will have fun!

Thank you for being such a big helper! Your role in our family is truly divine, and I'm thankful to be able to see that, even at such a young age!

LOVE--Mom

Love Letter to Aube: 18 months

Dear Aubree,
My heart is full as I write this to you. You are 18 months today! I cannot believe how time has flown, that you are already Nursery age! It's amazing to think of the things that you have accomplished in just this last month. You have been quite the terror, but in between the tantrums and whining, I see bits and pieces of such a happy little girl. You love to play and laugh...and just this past week, after everything you do, you require a high-five! It's absolutely hilarious.
Your personality is very strong, a great trait for later in life, even if it causes some friction now. You can tell me what you want and especially what you don't want....makes life a little easier, taking the guess-work out of things. It also makes it harder b/c you have started to be a very picky eater and I usually find out everything you DON"T want more than what you do! I don't blame you for being picky....I'm no gourmet cook!
You have had an on-going battle with constipation, hopefully we will find some answers at your doctor's appointment. I hate to see you in pain, and it looks excruciating! I want to fix this problem, no matter what it takes...discomfort is NOT in the game plan!
You are such a beautiful child. I love that you let me put your hair up in pigtails--aptly named "mullet tails."
I love that you lay your head on my shoulder for comfort, take my hand when we walk, readily have a sloppy kiss available! My favorite moment of this month---seeing the sheer excitement in your face when I was coming around the corner at the airport. I will treasure that moment for my entire life! When I'm at my limits of patience b/c you won't eat or won't poop Ü...I will remember that moment, you almost falling over in joy!
This coming month...I promise you I will be a better mom....less short-tempered moments, more book reading, less scolding, more walks in the bright sun.
I love you, beautiful child of mine....
